making Firefox for Android the default browser

I love Firefox the browser. I want it to the default on my Nexus 4.
And more so after setting up Firefox sync across all my devices. Firefox sync is neat, it means I can my browser history, bookmarks and what not follow me around, regardless of which device I use.

So I naturally wanted it to be the case on my Android Nexus 4 phone. Android comes with Chrome which is not a bad browser by any stretch, and *a lot* of applications use it as the default. I had to change this to use Firefox. To do this do the following:

  1. Install Firefox for Android
  2. Long press the Chrome Icon
  3. Drag the Icon to the 'App Info' section at the top of the screen
  4. Scroll down to the 'Launch By default' section, and click on the 'Clear defaults' button
  5. Now all the applications will ask which browser you want to use for opening URL's.
  6. Select Firefox.
